Hi, We hear via friends at Fermi that there is a joint UofC-Argonne-Fermi cloud computing meeting today. In case anyone is interested, it is in building 201, room 274. It is a bit sad that we keep getting news about Argonne activities in this space from people outside the lab. Ian.

This is what Dan just sent: --- Hopefully in the next week or so I will be able to send each site a first increment of the Magellan funds. I have allocated the funding at $9M per site to include a start on the Postdocs and the hardware and operating split based on your $8M proposal. Each site has proposed different hardware and research focuses. For the next phase of the effort I believe that the 3 sites need to develop an integrated plan for research and the rest of the funds. Do you have any interest in funding them to work with specific people (e.g., to work with Kate and HEP to support development of HEP applications for the system), or should I suggest that they talk to you?
