Laptop repairs

Folks, if someone brings a laptop for repair to us to be fixed, don't send them to the CIS help desk. They're coming to us for a reason. One is for us to act as an intermediary on it. Another is to determine *who* will do the repair - UofC repairs go to the University for their repairs, ANL ones to CIS (or the Apple Store, depending).

One such tool that may be of interest to us is Nikto (http://cirt.net/nikto2) It has some really nice features out the door. In addition, it can be integrated with nests (which is something we might want to run on server net on a regular basis) and allows for custom tests and searches to be added to the scanning process. This might be a nice way to detect certain filenames in a public way. Cleaning a screen log

The problem is that it also capture all kinds of control and unprintable ASCII characters.
