Change of plans. Amy needs to be downtown at 2 on Thursday and since my training on Thursday is an elective I've canceled it for a later date. I'll be on my normal off day on Thursday. Hey, Rocky. I'm including the group to see if anyone's encountered this. We make the change however upon reboot it randomly generates a new one. Is there a way to preeminently set the ID? Note: The user is logging in with a network account (ANL account). I believe this is the root of the problem. [CELS Sysadmins] Shutting down kBT cluster

I got the go-ahead from Rick to start the process of getting rid of the kbt cluster. First step is notifying Benoit (which I'll be doing now). After that, there will be an announcement to the users detailing the shutdown schedule. My plan is to turn off new job submission at the end of February, and turn off the system completely at end of March. This gives them a month after the end of operation to find a new home for the data. While it's not a burning issue, I don't want the cluster to sit there indefinitely, so in the intervening time I'll come up with what I hope to be a leisure decommissioning and disassembling plan to free up the space.
