Agenda:
This is functionally the meeting that replaces the Core Tactical.  I will try to adhere to the agenda as firmly as possible, with the option to spill over at the end for those who want.  We'll be having these weekly, so we should be able to contain this to 60 minutes and keep discussions focused.

NOTES:

Vserver updates: Ken will upgrade vserver4-221 and rack the ALCF vserver.  Dan will identify the old hardware (the old aha and an old IBM).  Ken will notify when this is done.  The next step will be to start the migration -- scheduling outages.  Craig will drop spreadsheet into dropbox and share it with everyone until sharepoint.

Console/power - Need to document what uses which power management.  All 221 machines follow the -mgmt naming standard.  Set up the 221 IPMI to allow our static auth wireless address.  Will try web VPN access.  Need to standardize on credentials.  Need to identify the ideal IPMI/power setup, and do a staged true-up to this process.  Need to investigate having IPMI use Crypto.  Ken will do the spec.

Ken will spec the solution for AWS.  Will spec out using AWS DB service, two instances in geographic distinct locations, elastic load balancer.

Punt on TSM discussion until Max is here.

Host inventory project: Hostbase is out of date.  It has fields we don't need and doesn't have fields we do.  Dan devised a spreadsheet, and proposes it hosting it in sharepoint.  Craig talked about why we're not good at keeping this up to date.  Dan talked about having more granular ownership in the records.  Craig reiterated the need for canonical source for info.  Talked about making whatever we do be the canonical source, and making IHW accept what we upload via feature enhancements (such as multiple IPs per host).

Talk about finding an open-source tool that will work as the interface for our data which we will export to IHW.

Craig will look for opensource tools for assett management.  Dan will take the lead on getting fields out of IHW.

Punt on new project ideas until next meeting.
