Achieving FISMA Compliance with Acquia Managed Cloud

Government websites have it tough; the mandate is: provide a great user experience, be compliant with FISMA, and cut costs significantly.

Many agencies have discovered Drupal as a key way to provide a great user experience at a lower cost, but further savings are typically found by moving hosting services to the Cloud. Moving agency websites to the cloud has been impeded by federal compliance requirements, and navigating the Certification & Accreditation (C&A) process can be a daunting task.

Acquia has designed and implemented a controled environment for the Acquia Managed Cloud which fulfills FISMA moderate baseline security requirements in accordance with NIST 800-53r3. Additionally, Acquia has inluded the controls which have been proposed by the developing FedRAMP program, which will soon replace FISMA as the C&A process for cloud service providers like Acquia.
