All: In order to free up the 140.221.123.0/24 network (the space we currently use for non-registered desktops) for use by Magellan, we are moving our unregistered hosts on DesktopNet to 130.202.17.0/24. Late this evening, the DHCP server will be updated to start handing out these new addresses. The current lease time is 8 hours, so by the time you arrive tomorrow, you should already have a new address. If you are experiencing connectivity issues tomorrow morning, please reboot your system. If the issue persists, please contact the helpdesk. Access from this new network should remain consistent with what you have experienced in the past. You will continue to be treated as an outsider until you have your device(s) registered, but it is certainly fine to use the wired network in an unregistered state. This change will only affect users on the unregistered portion of DesktopNet (if your IP address is in the 140.221.10.0 - 140.221.11.255 range, you are exempt.
More changes will be coming during the summer and I will keep you aware of how they are progressing.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
