after this command : mpiexec -n 5 -f machinefile ./examples/cpi, it said that "error parsing hostfile" and "unable to parse user arguments" and "error parsing parameters" and something like these, so what is the problem?

To what do you refer by "doesnt work"?

- command not found
- generates an error message when executed
- runs the given application, but only in serial
- runs in parallel but results in wrong results
...
