I just learned about the performance variable

interface and was hoping to try it out.

However, I've tried a recent MPICH build from

source on a workstation and the older MPI

install on our IBM BlueGene/Q, both of which

show zero performance variables.

In particular,

MPI_T_pvar_get_num

returns zero.

Is there something I need to do to get this working

or should I turn to a different source to get such

performance information ?
