Greetings from Greece/Question about installing mpich2
Hello my name is Mark and im an undergraduate of computer science here in Greece. For my thesis i will have to use MPI for some cluster programming and i have to set it up on my machine to start some testing. I happens to use Debian Linux on my system and so i thought i would install MPICH using the apt package manager and continue from there. But after discussing this matter with my thesis prof, he said that this implementation of mpich through apt will not do for my job and i will have to go through the install manual and build mpich that way.It happens that my teacher isn't so familiar with my linux distribution and so he isn't sure about what he said ( about apt , etc). And so i ask for you opinion on that matter. How to build a fully functional mpich on debian linux? Using Apt ? Or using the install manual? Thank you for your time.
