Hello, we need 2 sets of multiple volunteers to help with these two tasks (deadlines below)
A) Summarize the Application Inventory
1) Craft a short 1/2 page executive summary of the results and 4 PPTs
2) Write ~3 pages of summary that can be put in the Narrative
B) A Outline the "Software Development, QA, Testing, and Integration Procedures" document.
The document will be 10 to 15 pages when we are all done, but we need to start with an outline of good software hygiene and how we will handle collective development. I can work with the drafters on the phone this week.
The Outline should include things like (but not limited to, just my short brainstorming below)
* Testing and QA
* Unit tests
* Night tests run locally at developer's site on HEAD
* Remote tests run on stable branch, etc
* Harness rigging
* Source Code Control
* Contributor's agreement
* Distributed repos (Git?) rather than a centralized repo
* Official Maintainer
* Maintaining list of cleared committers
* Required documentation, interface definitions, user documentation, standards, etc.
* Licensing
* All code will have Open Source License, BSD-like preferred over GPL/LGPL
* Collaboration Tools and management tools
* Bug tracking
Local ESC
Vendor linking
Community
* Feature / Issue tracking, monitoring
* Mailing lists: community, developers, support
* Software tracking, project management links
* Integration with Vendors
* Access to repo
* Exporting test environment to vendors
* Comparing and tracking 2 bug lists (ESC and vendor)
* Support
* QA Team handing 1st level support for ESC-supported components
* QA Team handling initial support for vendor-supported components
* Developers handing low-level bug fixing and issue resolution
