Dear PETSc developer, This email contains listings of contributions attributed to you by `git blame` that caused compiler errors or warnings in PETSc automated testing. Follow the links to see the full log files. Please attempt to fix the issues promptly or let us know at petsc-dev(a)mcs.anl.gov if you are unable to resolve the issues. Thanks, The PETSc development team ---- warnings attributed to commit https://bitbucket.org/petsc/petsc/commits/422a814 Infrastructure that allows failures in PCSetUp(), PCApply(), MatMult() etc due to, for example a zero pivot or function evaluation outside its domain, to propagate up and become a KSP_DIVERGED instead of generating an error that stops the program. In response to Issue 96. This includes failures in MatCreateSNESMF() applications due to domain errors. The mechanism to propagate some errors is by setting Info or Nan into the output vector and using the norm or inner product reductions in SNES or KSP to propagate the error condition to all processes and then handling them immediately after the norm or inner product. src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913 [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/20/build_next_…] /sandbox/petsc/petsc.clone-3/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: invalid conversion from 'PetscInt {aka int}' to 'PCFailedReason' [-fpermissive] [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/20/build_next_…] /Users/petsc/petsc.clone-3/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: assigning to 'PCFailedReason' from incompatible type 'PetscInt' (aka 'int') [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/20/build_next_…] /sandbox/petsc/petsc.clone-2/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: assigning to 'PCFailedReason' from incompatible type 'PetscInt' (aka 'long') [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/20/build_next_…] /sandbox/petsc/petsc.clone/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: invalid conversion from 'PetscInt {aka int}' to 'PCFailedReason' [-fpermissive] [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/20/build_next_…] /sandbox/petsc/petsc.clone/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: invalid conversion from 'PetscInt {aka int}' to 'PCFailedReason' [-fpermissive] [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/20/build_next_…] /Users/petsc/petsc.clone-2/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: assigning to 'PCFailedReason' from incompatible type 'PetscInt' (aka 'int') [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/20/build_next_…] /usr/home/balay/petsc.clone-2/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: invalid conversion from 'PetscInt {aka int}' to 'PCFailedReason' [-fpermissive] [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/20/build_next_…] /usr/home/balay/petsc.clone-3/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: invalid conversion from 'PetscInt {aka int}' to 'PCFailedReason' [-fpermissive] ---- To opt-out from receiving these messages - send a request to petsc-dev(a)mcs.anl.gov.

The mechanism to propagate some errors is by setting Info or Nan into the output vector and using the norm or inner product reductions in SNES or KSP to propagate the error condition to all processes and then handling them immediately after the norm or inner product. src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913 [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/19/build_next_…] /sandbox/petsc/petsc.clone/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: invalid conversion from 'PetscInt {aka int}' to 'PCFailedReason' [-fpermissive] [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/19/build_next_…] /sandbox/petsc/petsc.clone/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: invalid conversion from 'PetscInt {aka int}' to 'PCFailedReason' [-fpermissive] [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/19/build_next_…] /usr/home/balay/petsc.clone-3/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: invalid conversion from 'PetscInt {aka int}' to 'PCFailedReason' [-fpermissive] [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/19/build_next_…] /Users/petsc/petsc.clone-3/src/ksp/pc/interface/precon.c:913:36: error: assigning to 'PCFailedReason' from incompatible type 'PetscInt' (aka 'int') ---- warnings attributed to commit https://bitbucket.org/petsc/petsc/commits/719d564 1) The first argument to MatXXXFactorSymbolic/Numeric() is now the factored matrix src/mat/impls/aij/seq/umfpack/umfpack.c:270 [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/19/build_next_…] /sandbox/petsc/petsc.clone/src/mat/impls/aij/seq/umfpack/umfpack.c:270:29: warning: assignment from incompatible pointer type [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/19/build_next_…] /sandbox/petsc/petsc.clone-3/src/mat/impls/aij/seq/umfpack/umfpack.c:270:29: warning: incompatible pointer types assigning to 'PetscErrorCode (*)(Mat, Mat, MatFactorInfo *)' from 'PetscErrorCode (Mat, Mat, const MatFactorInfo *)' [-Wincompatible-pointer-types] [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/19/build_next_…] /sandbox/petsc/petsc.clone/src/mat/impls/aij/seq/umfpack/umfpack.c:270:29: warning: assignment from incompatible pointer type [http://ftp.mcs.anl.gov/pub/petsc/nightlylogs/archive/2015/11/19/build_next_…] /sandbox/petsc/petsc.clone/src/mat/impls/aij/seq/umfpack/umfpack.c:270:29: warning: assignment from incompatible pointer type ---- To opt-out from receiving these messages - send a request to petsc-dev(a)mcs.anl.gov.
