January kick-off meeting compendium and a proposed outline for a talk at the DoD February 28-29 status meeting

All, The compendium documenting our activities, decisions, notes from the kick-off meeting just held at Clemson is now available. As part of creating this document, milestones through June 30 of this year are included. Two institutions have not yet supplied their summaries or milestones and I would very much like to have that information included. Please update for me? Also, DoD has informed me that there will be a status meeting on February 28 or (inclusive?) 29. I've asked that our attendance be limited just to me. I feel, for the stated purpose, I can adequately represent our group. I've added a proposed outline for the talk I think I would give at this meeting. Would you please look that over and comment? SSM repository reorganization, LINKS WILL BREAK

All, This is regarding the SSM repository. ( https://svn.cis.uab.edu/hpcl/Nebula/SSM) With the completion of my Level 1 exams, SSM development is resuming. The next item on the agenda is a reorg of our repo -- during development SSM was broken into a number of modules, and externals were used (pointing within our repo) to enable easy swapping. Now with the responsibilities of each module relatively stable, this system is mostly just making it take thirty minutes to check out, and will be retiring over the next week. The details of the final structure will be written up once the reorg is done, and the last (current) drops will remain available at: https://svn.cis.uab.edu/hpcl/Nebula/misc-drops/libssm_ref-r828-071111.tgz(f… libssm itself) https://svn.cis.uab.edu/hpcl/Nebula/misc-drops/libssmp_unix_tcp_ref-r828-07… libssm) https://svn.cis.uab.edu/hpcl/Nebula/misc-drops/ssmtests-r828-071111.tgz(for ssmtests, including libssm and the unixtcp plugin) Please note, again, these are the drops from November 2011. Any other links or externals references WILL BREAK over the next week. For each of the drops so affected, documentation will be checked in as part of the tag on how to build and what the requirements are, for preservation of historical builds. The only real change is that the required modules/headers/et. al. will not be checked out automatically with svn:externals, so the documentation will mostly be a list of dependencies and directories (much like the svn:externals property itself). If this causes you undue hardship or generally ruins your day let me know what you need and I'll pack up a tarball to put in a permanent location (with the others, above). The next drop (with the no-unlink and new memory semantics) will follow the new organization and will not require externals or dependencies to build once checked out (though there may be an additional library dependency; this is being looked at); this just affects drops through the last one. Again, you may consider externals references into the SSM repo tree to be broken immediately; please use the drops above, or let me know what package you need and I will be happy to oblige. Sorry for the upset -- this has been on my agenda for a while, needing only time to complete, and I'm afraid any further delay will exacerbate integration issues.
