commenting/auditing the ASG API

Hi all, I just made a pass through asg.h in the include/ subdirectory of the asg/reference repository and added Doxygen-style comments for all of the types and arguments. I'm not a particularly big fan of doxygen (nor particularly good at it) but I don't really know what folks use for this kind of thing nowadays. We need something though, because I usually confuse myself when I look at the API as it stands. The commented header is attached if anyone would like to peek at it without going to the repo. The pdf version of the document generated by Doxygen is also attached, but it is appallingly long. I tried to define any parameters that could be confusing. I also marked @todo notes on things that seemed wrong, inconsistent, or I simply couldn't figure out. Those are in the "Chapter 1: Todo List" in the pdf file. I would really like for the "todo list" to be empty :) Maybe the thing to do is to make appropriate changes/clarifications to the reference (both header and implementation) in a git branch and then merge it down to trunk after some review? Please comment if you see anything amiss in the parameter descriptions, have other todo items to add, or have any strong opinions on how some of the todo items should be resolved. thanks, -Phil
