First of all, thank you for joining us, and we look forward to seeing everyone next month!
We want to make the tutorial as interactive as possible so that you can make the most of your time investment. In addition to sharing overview material, we will try our best to have everyone up and running example codes (or their own codes) and working with us on design problems by the end of the session. To that end, we need to get some preliminary logistics out of the way ahead of time so that we can make the most of our time on the day of the event. Stay tuned for more information on that shortly.
We are assuming that most of you are interested in running code on Summit, or that you are able to run code on Summit as a starting point. If this is not true in your case, then please let us know ASAP so that we can adjust the material accordingly. Mochi works on a variety of platforms at this point, but in the interest of time we need to narrow things down a bit 🙂 It's also important to note that you must have your own account already on your platform of choice at the ECP meeting; we will not be providing accounts in this tutorial.
And finally, a quick note about session attendance: other ECP meeting attendees might visit our session, and if so we will work with them where possible, but we are going to focus our material (and our attention during the tutorial) on attendees that we've coordinated with in advance.

As Phil said in his introductory message, we only have one day to cover
a lot of material, so let's show up ready to go.
We'll spend some time in the session giving big-picture context. Until
then, there are a few weeks to get your environment set up (and work
out the inevitable kinks).
Assuming you want to run on Summit, follow this guide:

If you aren't running on Summit you can still follow the general
outline of this exercise, though we'll have to adjust a few things for
your specific environment. Summit is one of the major ECP platforms,
so we are assuming everyone has access to it (or a machine like it).
If you get hung up on a step, ask for help on this mailing list or the
slack instance. We have pointers to both of those resources here:
