Everyone,
It is time to get serious about the next NEAMS PI meeting. Fortunately, I know that many of you will have a few more free hours now that the Hub applications will be submitted next Monday (actually, I realize that as of next Monday you will either be in recovery mode or trying to catch up on the unfinished work from your "real jobs").
In any case - a few words about the meeting:
* Dates/Times/Place: The Spring PI meeting will be held at Argonne National Lab on April 13, 14, and 15. The meeting will start at 8:00am on the 13th and run until 3:00pm on the 15th. We are planning to hold a dinner on the night of the 13th, and take a tour of the Advanced Photon Source on the afternoon of the 14th. The meetings will be held in rooms at the Advanced Photon Source which is within walking distance of the Argonne Guest House.
* Who Should Attend: We are going to use the Spring PI meeting as primarily a planning opportunity for FY-11. This meeting will kick-off the work package planning process and focus primarily on establishing the interfaces between the various efforts. Therefore the people who should attend the meeting are the people who will are:
* Work Package Leads
* CAMS
* LC & PMT Members
* HQ Staff
This includes the "traditional" NEAMS participants, but also should include other NE Modeling and Simulation activities (e.g. LWRS) participants. I do not mean to exclude anyone from this meeting, but since this is supposed to be an "internal planning" meeting I am not sure how useful it will be for people from the larger NE R&D programs, industry, or universities. The one exception might be the NEUP funded university activities whose plans should be incorporated into the FMM and IPSC plans.
So - I will leave it to the Leadership Council (LC) and the PMT to pass along invites to the PI Meeting. Nominally we are expecting 100 to 120 participants so we do not have to be too exclusive. On the other hand, this meeting is really intended to be a very interactive, working meeting so we should be inviting people who are expected to be actively involved with the planning and execution of the FY-11 efforts.

Please note that we will have a few "open" sessions for Thursday morning. The meeting will be a topic for Monday's PMT conference call, so we can talk about more of the details then.
