Ideally this should be made to work(when the relative dir is in fact writable by both client and compute node, as it was in this case) If thats not feasible or desirable, then a clear error message should be given that the workdirectory must be fully qualified *and* writable by both client and compute node. When a task fails, Swift prints full stdout/stderr to screen. The stdout/stderr in psims is pretty long (about 2/3 screens of debug info). Then Swift retries the task again and prints the message again. It gets very spammy and almost impossible to see the ticker. One suggestion might be to have a property that limits the number of lines from stdout/stderr (to screen) on a failure - with the ability to set them to 0 lines.
