The University of Chicago, in collaboration with IBM, welcomes proposals spanning quantum algorithms, software, quantum error correction, and their integration with high-performance computing and artificial intelligence. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, the development of or application of quantum algorithms to simulations of quantum systems (e.g., chemistry, materials science, high energy physics, etc.), optimization problems (e.g., as related to economics, finance, supply chain, etc.), quantum machine learning and connections between quantum and AI, and differential equations. Attached is the RFP with guidelines for a proposal submission, as well as a template for your proposal. In order to support researchers as they consider submitting and scoping a proposal, IBM will be at UChicago on 8/18 from 1-5 PM in ERC161. The agenda will include a brief introduction to what the RFP's goals and criteria are, an overview on best practices for scoping an effective quantum compute project, and a presentation by Hiroshi Horii and Mario Motta on their quantum-centric supercomputing work.
