I haven't tried HDF5 with dynamic linking. We build HDF5 like this: $ ./configure --without-pthread --disable-shared --enable-fortran --disable-cxx --enable-parallel --with-zlib=/soft/libraries/alcf/current/xl/ZLIB --prefix=/soft/libraries/hdf5/1.8.14/cnk-xl/V1R2M2-20150213 using XL compiler. Do you get a core file from the abort? If you take a look at the call stack maybe that will give a hint where we should look. kevin
I am trying to apply Darshan to a dynamically linked executable on a BGQ system with shared parallel hdf5 library. I have tried several Darshan versions, several hdf5 versions, and am using the gcc C and fortran compilers (with mlicc and mpif90 wrappers)
Without Darshan, the code will execute, but when set LD_PRELOAD, the code aborts. My suspicion is that there is a problem with my hdf5 library build.
Has anyone encountered this?
Does anyone have a good (and current)recipe for building parallel hdf5 on BGQ?
Thanks, - Richard
