My comments:
- what is the intent of this? It says it is mandatory for areas that change divisional ownership. Is that really the only time it is intended to apply?
My understanding is that it is optional otherwise.
- for how long after the ownership change does this apply? After one survey? Forever and anon?
Good question. I'll raise this issue with the LMS team (as well as the ones below).
The exclusion says:
Areas containing only cabling owned and operated by the division or organization performing the work.
- Clearly, Bldg 369 / ISSF qualifies, but what about the TCS machine room? - How big is an area? Is the entire machine room the area? Or is it the various rows that have been carved out for the different divisions?
What are the limits of applicability? Clearly something like fiber running under ground between buildings would be covered, and clearly (I hope) changing a 2' long ethernet cable between a node and an in-rack switch would not, but where is the line in between those two extremes?
