With due respect, this functionality was supported by mpich2 versions up to 1.3 and it was not made clear that this was changed in any of documents. I think it's important to maintain backward compatibility between versions and I still think many people use standard C I/O function for their works. Hi, We use "gcc (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.1-9ubuntu3) 4.6.1" compiler and the operation system is ubuntu 11.10. The kernel version is "3.0.0-17-generic #30-Ubuntu SMP Thu Mar 8 20:45:39 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux" We also tried on redhat linux with "gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-52)" and kernel version is "2.6.18-308.1.1.el5 #1 SMP Fri Feb 17 16:51:01 EST 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux".
