Intel folks,
We are just about ready to push out 1.5 (1.5rc2 will go out this Monday,
and 1.5GA a week after that, assuming no surprises).
Our next major release is going to be mpich-3.0, an RC for which is
scheduled to be released at our SC 2012 BoF. Like with every major
release, we want to coordinate with all our partners on our feature
plans and priorities with MPICH-3.0 and beyond. A draft of the release
plan is listed on the below link for your reference:
https://trac.mcs.anl.gov/projects/mpich2/roadmap
Should we have a telecon sometime this coming week or next week to
discuss this?
Specific agenda items are below --
1. Coordinate on the efforts for MPI-3 (what's left and what needs to be
done).
2. Coordinate on non-MPI-3 efforts for the mpich-3.0 release. Specific
items here are MPI-GPU integration and Portals4 support; I don't think
you guys are interested in either one of these, but let us know if you
are (especially in the first).
3. Plans for fault tolerance support. This is beyond mpich-3.0 and will
likely be a major part of the mpich-3.1 release for next year.
4. Plans for Intel MIC. This is also beyond mpich-3.0, though we didn't
prioritize this relative to other features yet.
5. Understanding your upcoming release plans and release time cycles.
Regards,
