I'm seriously considering switching to Virgin Mobile and I've heard several of you use them, so I'm just soliciting your experiences with using them as a carrier. tomorrow

Hi, Olivia gets out of school at 3:55pm on M - R and at 1:40pm on Friday's and her after school program doesn't kick in until September 6th. What does this mean? I'll need to pick her up tomorrow and next Friday and work from home for the remainder of the day. Also, there is a possibility that I may need me to pick her up on Monday due to a potential meeting Carlos may have after his school day - I should know his status by tomorrow. Needless to say, I'll work through lunch and in the evening to make up any loss time. Beth

I am going to take the rest of the day as family sick. Nikki hasn't been doing to hot (no pun intended) in the last 1/2 hour and I have to keep helping her and I have people IM'ing me for help and info re: reqs and I am getting overwhelmed with both work and her. T.

Windows licensing

I'm sending the below out to the announce list. Short story is do not give out Windows installation media without informing them of the below policy. If they cannot produce a Windows license key, send a note to purchase(a)[mcs/alcf/cels].anl.gov asking them to purchase this for them: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=… An OEM key from the sticker on a laptop is fine. We need to track these centrally - Tina, I need you to do that. > Hey, folks. I wanted to send everyone a note on how we license Windows for use on machines that didn't come with Windows on them in the first place. > > I've recently discovered that the license fee we pay on our annual renewals are for upgrade licenses (i.e. licenses for prior versions of Windows we already own). So in paying this fee, we're entitled to upgrade previously licensed copies of XP or Vista to 7. But we still need to have a license for each installed copy of Windows. > > This has an effect on people who run Windows in a virtual machine. Unless you have a Windows license, we can't just give you a copy of Windows to install for a VM. > > As such, from now on we'll have to use a new process for handing out Windows CDs for VM usage. If you request a Windows CD image from us, you'll need to provide us with a license key from any previous or current version of Windows Professional or higher (which we'll track in a spreadsheet for you from that time forward). If you don't have one, we'll send a note to your purchasing coordinator to purchase a license for you. Where's Tina Update

I had to take Nikki to the ER last night because she said her throat was swelling up even more. They tested her for mono and strep and both came back inconclusive. So they are treating her for both at this time. I will be working from home to be with her. I am going to take Vinnie to school at 8:15 and then run to the store to get some things that are mushy and cold that she can eat. Never a dull moment at the Piersanti's! T.

Taking Nikki to the Dr. in the morning. I just talked to her and she said she felt like she was getting worse. I will WFH before and during her appt. If she is feeling up to being left alone, I will drop her off at home and come in. If not, I will finish out my day there. T.
