I want to cut a 1.5b1 release soon-ish (in about a week). We've got several of MPI-3 extensions on the trunk that weren't in 1.5a2, along with many bug fixes. So if you've got any bugs that you really want to fix before the next release, please fix them soon.
I don't think there are too many critical ones besides this one, which is mine anyway:

If you have some time, check this page for tickets currently assigned to you for 1.5:
http://trac.mcs.anl.gov/projects/mpich2/report/11
If tickets should be pushed out past 1.5 final then do that, and if you can reasonably fix something that is currently assigned to you before I cut the release, please do so.
The ch4 stuff won't be part of this beta release.

Hi all,
Based on some discussion within some of us here, we were thinking that
it might be time to create a new device, ch4, this release. Here's some
reasoning:
1. We need extensions to the ADI interface for MPI-3, as well as other
MPI extensions we are planning on adding going forward. To ensure
backward compatibility for derivative implementations, we'd like to have
ch3 still support only the current ADI-3 interface. Upper-level
functions that call ADI-4 functions will return an error with ch3. The
plan is to deprecate ch3, and eventually move all of our focus on ch4 alone.
2. This will also give us an opportunity to push nemesis functionality
to the device layer within ch4, thus essentially merging ch3, nemesis
and nemesis/nemesis.
3. Since the channel interface would now disappear, we no longer have to
support channels whose functionality has been absorbed into nemesis or
one of its netmods (such as sock, sctp, and dllchan with respect to
supporting multiple netmods simultaneously).
This will be a big change in the code (number of lines wise), but
hopefully it'll make the code a little bit easier to manager. We have
already given a heads up to IBM and Cray about it. I'll send an email
to Intel as well. This email is to catch any problems that we might
foresee before we start hacking on the code.

Hi All,
Is there any way that we can shut down whatever is allowing all these
spam tickets to be created?

We are getting too many spam tickets on my mpich2 trac. Can a math
captcha or something equivalent be enabled to stop this?

Why is the MPID_Comm structure called MPID_ instead of MPIR_? It's not
exposed by the device, but defined above the ADI layer. Is it by
accident or am I missing something here?
