I have also walked by the Northgate construction entrance when some equipment was being moving around, but at that time there were spotters for traffic. I did encounter a later problem where a crane was parked along the west side of the Northgate just west of the 94th stop sign and blocked nearly the entire Southbound Northgate lane. Traffic had to negotiate around the truck by going into the oncoming lane. There was no spotters at that time, but the driver and a couple of construction workers were milling around the crane. I took the episode as a one off event, but Lillian’s observation makes me wonder if we have more than an occasional traffic issue that needs to be resolved with the contractor.

I'm talking about road inside Argonne, the one after the gate that has on one side 202 and on the other 222, and ends at the Inner circle. I thought its still a Northgate road.
Today, when I was comming from the Inner Circle road, one OZINGA was going in reverse from the road in front of us (94th?), and turning in reverse into the Northgate road, going in reverse tovard the 222. The entrance to the construction site hi was aiming for is close to 222 building. There is a big permanent sign at that entrance: "OZINGA trucks". I was nearly hit standing at that stop. That OZINGA probably did not know that it cannot enter from the "our" road (94th).

I am confused. I travel Northgate all the time. I do see trucks are parked on the side of the road while the drivers get their badges, but that is a designated area. At times, I have seen some backup that caused employees to have to wait or go around traffic that is being inspected. Are you talking about 94th St?

Talking about road closure,
I don't know if you have noticed that most of the construction traffic is now on the Northgate road. The main entrance for trucks, including Ozinga, comes through the Northgate and enters from the Nortgate road. Traffic on the Northgate road, in front of that construction entrance is horrific at some times. Every time I drove that way (the only way for hundreds of ANL employees), there was a track movement that stops everything. You don't notice that, because you don't have to drive that way very offten.
Somebody should reevaluate traffics situation around the construction site, and that somebody should do it the way traffic educated experts do it, not the way he thinks is great.
I have a friend, Harvard graduate traffic expert. Yes, there is a "science" behind traffic movements.
