It is good to see actions. I just hope they do a better job of grinding down the edges than they did on the sidewalk sections that caused the incident. This is a place holder in case OPS does not react. Division has submitted to Gail. Bill will keep me updated. This finding was the result of an EVS walk through/inspection. where we asked an employee if there were any issues that bothered her. The person pointed out several to us. I wish they had been submitted earlier. Also, this might an indication that Rick's message may or may not have made it down from supervisors to all staff. Vehicle traffic issues around Bldg 240 and the ESB construction site.

Hi Phil, We have received a number of complaints from Argonne staff that there is no signage on the corner of Northgate Rd, and 94th street indicating that 94th is currently a dead end street. Can appropriate signs be placed at Northgate to indicate to staff and visitors that 94th is closed to through traffic? This next issue is probably more in Matt's world, but he will need guidance from Phil, Pat, or Jeff: In addition, staff are wondering when 94th St will open. The last we remember privately hearing is that 94th St will not reopen until the ESB construction is complete, due to concerns about the interaction of cars and pedestrians, with construction traffic and operations. If this is still true, then a communication of some sort needs to put out as a general announcement on this and the reasons why. This will at least quiet the fraction of the staff who read such announcements, and allow us to refer the rest of the irate employees to the public announcement.
