I need to take off early tomorrow and take Nikki to a Dr's appt in Plainfield. I will leave here about 2:00. So going to take a late lunch and I will leave here around 2:00. Will use my lunch hour between 2-3. And log back on when I get home and finish out the time I missed from home. I will be reachable by the usual ways once back at home. T.

Dear Colleagues, On July 6th I will be driving back from a beach house in Michigan, with sand between my toes, a slightly more pronounced farmer's-tan, and a feeling of wellbeing and contentment, for I will NOT be sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on July 5th with all the other poor souls clogging the Skyway. ======================================================================= Who: Nathan Mitchell What : Recent work on Heckle When: Tuesday, June 29th at 9:30 am Where: Building 240, Room 1407 ======================================================================= Abstract ======== Heckle is a cluster imaging system, designed around gPXE, a replacement for the standard PXE stack used for network booting. Heckle maintains node information and can initialize and building a node, even complicated builds requiring multiple machine reboots. The key feature of Heckle is its support of user allocations, allowing ordinary cluster users to provision on demand specific nodes the specific OS images. It also supports extensible power management control and will soon be integrated with other HPC tools.

Power supply failure in the mcs-240rtr

FYI: At roughly 1400hrs CDT today PS1 on the 6504E (mcs-240rtr) went offline. Dan helped me out by reseating it, resetting it, etc. Nothing worked. I have an open ticket with cisco on it and should have a new supply on its way for early next week. when it arrives, I will have Linda install it. This is on case number TAC: 614744155. There is no impact to operations other than we have no redundancy, so any power work must be cancelled until this is rectified. -corby
