>From the original post, I guess libmpich.a is the problem and perhaps mpichversion.o. Do you want a per-object-file analysis or is the archive sufficient? As far as I can tell, about a month or so ago Macports fried my development environment and introduced some mysterious cancer that breaks everything. I'm a few days away from wiping the whole garbage and starting over. Weird. I am unable to reproduce the problem even when I specify clang as the compiler on my Macbook. What if you force 64bit on C and C++? Or can you tell which specific object files (rather than libraries) have the wrong architecture? You might write a test of fork() and see if there's a Windows-related problem with that. My guess is that this has nothing to do with MPICH and everything to do with the OS. In any case, there's no point in discussing it further on the list unless you want to install Linux in a VM or something. Unfortunately, we haven't supported Windows since MPICH version 1.4.1p1. You can find out more at the FAQ page: http://wiki.mpich.org/mpich/index.php/Frequently_Asked_Questions#Q:_Why_can… Since we don't have any test environments or Windows experts, we can't really shed any light onto why you would get this performance. You might try MS-MPI as mentioned in the FAQ post. Slow spawning on Window Server 2012

Hi, I am using mpich-1.4.1.p1 to launch multiple child processes. On Window Server 2008 all the child processes are launched almost immediately but this takes significant time on Window Server 2012. I am using MPI_Comm_spawn for spawning a process and MPI::Init_thread(argc,argv,MPI_THREAD_MULTIPLE) is used for initializing MPICH2. Please let me know if this is a known problem. Did config.log not show up? I see the attachment in my outbox. This is the output of make the second time. Everything is fine until this step but I can attach the whole thing if necessary. I tried a dozen or so attempts, all from a completely empty directory (including deleting .libs and such). Also, I ran autogen.sh after my clean pull yesterday. Jeff, Can you send the configure output as well? It is strange that no files were built. Does this happen if you do a make clean first?
