MPICH 3.3.2 and ch4:ucx launcher

Hi all, I am trying out MPICH with ch4/UCX. Our local cluster has SLURM. I configure with e.g. --with-pmix=/path/to/pmix/github-head \ --with-device=ch4:ucx \ --with-ucx=/path/to/ucx/1.7.0 \ --with-pm=no \ --with-slurm Is this correct? I don’t get an mpi{run, exec} when I make install, assume that’s a consequence of —with-pm=no ? If so, how do I get a suitable launcher for ch4:ucx ? thanks Tony

Hi Martin, Unfortunately, singleton init is still not fixed in MPICH. There is a PR fixing it for `hydra2` -- https://github.com/pmodels/mpich/pull/3340. Hello All. I really need to run mi application like a singleton (i.e. without mpirun) and dynamically spawns tasks from there. I recently builded the last release (mpich 3.3.2), but I can't do this. So, the singleton spawns It's not supported or I'm doing something wrong? Thanks. Martín

Hello, can you reproduce the error with a minimal code example: Just create the communicator and call the collective as in your application? Such code would make it easier for people to help you with the issue. Probably understand, whether the issue is in the code or in the MPI library.
