Naming a puppet hierarchy level

All, I'm starting the work of attempting to merge the MCS puppet repo into the production IGSB puppet server. This necessitates creating a level in our hiera hierarchy that will basically designate what is IGSB, what is MCS and in the future what is SEED. This is needed because while there are many commonalities (radius servers, DNS servers) there are many differences as well (root password, primary log server). For IGSB we can't (yet) use the DNS domain - we have many server still named foo.mcs.anl.gov and will for a quite a while. Division would work for IGSB vs MCS but my opinion is that we'll need to keep SEED somewhere seperate from MCS and it is not officially a division. Dan and I brainstormed a bit and came up with: org domain kingdom chiefdom division sysadminrealm configrealm phylum genus class order family ecosystem (Yes, Dan and I work a lot with biologists.) Both "realm" and "domain" (and maybe "class") by themselves are problematic as I think confusion with kerberos realms and DNS domains would be a problem. I propose a vote. Dan has voted for "family" Hunter votes for "division" if people don't care that SEED != division. "Kingdom" if they do care. Other suggestions? Votes? repos available on warehouse13

Dan, I pulled active updates on obsolete versions of centos on warehouse13. I left the files (rpms and whatnot) in place - I just moved the mrepo config items out of place. It was taking far too long and generating too many errors. For IGSB I'm going to try and switch from installing/updating specific versions (5.8, 5.9) to more of a rolling release (just '5') so that as 5.8 goes deprecated the systems will automatically pick up 5.9 and nothing breaks.
