Xaver, When building/installing MPICH from a tarball, manpages should be installed in <installdir>/share/man. Can you check to see if they are there? You'll likely need to update the MANPATH in your environment in order to use them. If they are not there, let us know which tarball you used so we can investigate. Hi Gilles This message appeared when redirecting stderr ./rams60: error while loading shared libraries: libhdf5.so.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory hdf5 is used by the model, installed in the master node and exported to the rest of nodes in the cluster. I've added export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/mpich2-1.0.5p4/lib:/usr/local/hdf5/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the script and now it seems to be properly running from crontab. I have scheduled another job for a later time and then will check but I think this was the cause of the script not running. Hi, when I do a vanilla 'make' / 'make install' it seems I don't get a system wide installation of the man pages or the html documentation. Before I start playing around with the additional make targets, can someone tell me what I should do to achieve proper a install of the man pages, html documentation, a.s.o. Thanks, Xaver

Question on licensing

Dear Developers, I would like to clarify a question about the MPICH2 license. We are working on academic code and our project is non-profitable. Now we are planning to sale the parallel binaries. The question is whether it is allowed to compile our project with MPICH2 and then distribute dynamically linked binaries? For instance, we can distribute (sale) our serial binaries compiled by GCC. Gilles, This is running for the hostname script (giving exactly the same log for shell and crontab) but adding these two lines does not work for my original script. Hello, While Cray MPI is derived from MPICH, it is closed source. So we don’t know what modifications they made to their code from the base MPICH version. Hi Gilles I tried what you said and it seems you are right about environment. In the case run from crontab there is an error message telling mpirun is not found and a warning: "ldd: faltan los ficheros de argumentos /(missing argument files)"/ You can see full output of shell, at and crontab in: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s162/sh/641d8db6-9252-49f5-b7d7-3592e0591c2f… Should I add export PATH=/usr/local/mpich2-1.0.5 to the script? I'm gonna try. What about the ldd message?
