ACME is having a "most hands" meeting this week in Albuquerque.
ACME management updates:
PNNL's Ruby Leung will take over from Bill Collins as the ACME Chief
Scientist and joins the ACME Executive Committee and Council.
Bill Riley will replace Bill Collins as the LBNL rep on the ACME Council.
Updates from Dorothy:
ACME is becoming more of a division-wide program for CESD/BER.
ARM,ASR, ACME had a workshop (invite only) on Oct 21-22 to talk about
how ARM, ASR research can be taken up more quickly by ACME and what big
problems they could work on together.
TES will have a similar meeting Nov 19. "Make sure NGEE's impact ACME"
ACME now has a small component in “Energy/Human”. led by Kate Calvin,
Andrew Jones. Exercising existing GCAM-CESM carbon cycle coupling in
iESM. Test importance of water management on water cycle in ACME.
ACME project review will be in Spring.
Will be forming an ACME Laboratory Management Board.
NESAP and CAAR postdoctoral positions with ACME are still open.
Dorothy's program will soon issue a FOA to universities to help with ACME.
ACME may participate in next CLIVAR climate process team effort.
USGCRP Climate Modeling Summit now an annual meeting for program
managers of all weather/climate model development groups in U.S.. Next
meeting is in March.
