Minimum of 33% commitment needed and more is possible. If you are current Argonne staff (including postdocs) and interested in joining ACME's performance group, please contact me. More info below. Rob ACME is looking for people who can do a mix of the following (in order of priority): Optimizing current models on current and soon-to-be-installed machines. Need experience in one or more of threading, vectorization, GPU acceleration. The MPAS models (ocean and sea-ice) are a particular need area. All codes are Fortran. Point of contact for one or more of the current computing centers (LCFs and NERSC). Monitor the nightly testing and work with developers to fix problems. Perform periodic performance benchmarks. Performance research. Based on knowledge of future architecture trends, research and prototype more innovate and less incremental performance-related changes to ACME and its underlying algorithms. Argonne to host ACME dedicated computer

Hi everyone, More good news: Argonne was selected to host a dedicated computer for ACME production and development! Once we had an alpha version that needed short, fast-turnaround jobs for testing, it was clear that the queue wait times at NERSC and the LCFs made it impossible to get the needed turnaround. Things were particularly bad in the 2 weeks before the SC16 deadline. With the support of both our Advisory Panel and recent review panel, Dorothy was able to find funds to purchase a computer. LCRC will setup and manage the 100+ node Intel (Broadwell) cluster which should arrive in September. All the credit goes to Ray Bair who put together a very professional proposal and was very responsive to follow-up questions. Rob
