Attention current ACME/CMDV-SM staff, Applications to be E3SM dedicated staff are due THIS FRIDAY. Note that they added a 3rd category which is regular staff working on core at less then 75%. Those apps are also due this Friday. So far, the following people will be proposed as dedicated staff at some level. The first step in that process is to build a team of "Dedicated Staff," who will be the backbone of the project. At the same time, we are recruiting people interested in working at least half-time on "Core Activities," but cannot or are unwilling to devote 75% of their time to the project. More details about these terms can be found on the Confluence page, which I encourage everyone to read carefully and completely. Things are going to happen fast. The Phase 2 review in May has been scheduled and all the busy reviewers have those days blocked so that can't slip. The application details for dedicated staff are still being worked out. Everyone should update their CVs. Hi everyone, The following was sent to everyone on E3SM on Friday to get the word out about organization of the next proposal. I've attached the relevant Confluence page as a pdf. It has the outline of how the project will be organized. Everyone interested in the E3SM/ACME renewal should read it. Note that there will be a whitepaper-like process to define "Next Generation Development" activities for E3SM which will make up part of the renewal proposal. We should probably have some internal process to figure out what Argonne wants to propose in that area. These whitepapers are tentatively due Nov 20th. Let me know if you have any questions. A central part of that planning has been an extended discussion within the leadership over the last several months about the organizational structure for what we are calling "E3SM Phase 2." I want to bring to everyone's attention the following Confluence page, which several of you have already found or heard about.
