Everyone,
Yesterday was a very good day for us and you probably did not even realize it. You may not know this, but for the last two years NE modeling and simulation has been co-funding a study by the National Research Council's Board on Mathematical Sciences and their Applications to conduct a study on V&V, UQ. Yesterday was the release symposium for the report from that study. The study itself will be available on the web next week.
I have not read the entire report, but a quick look at the pre-publication version and listening to the talks yesterday - I have a strong suspicion that this report will become a seminal event in the world of advanced modeling and simulation.
The good news is that I did not find anything in conflict with what we are currently doing. In fact it only reinforces our approach and provides some valuable ideas on where we might go.
So - while we cannot say we were directly involved in writing the report (at least I wasn't) - we can bask in the glow of being part of what enabled it to happen.
