IPSN brings together researchers from academia, industry, and government to present and discuss recent advances in both theoretical and experimental research. Its scope includes signal and image processing, information and coding theory, databases and information management, distributed algorithms, networks and protocols, wireless communications, collaborative objects, the Internet of Things, machine learning, mobile and social sensing, and embedded systems design. Of special interest are contributions at the confluence of multiple of these areas. Selection of demonstration and posters will be based on a short abstract, evaluated in terms of technical merit, innovation, and the potential to stimulate interesting discussions and exchange of ideas at the conference. Accepted abstracts will be published on IEEE Xplore as part of the main conference proceedings. At least one author of every accepted demonstration or poster abstract is required to register and attend the conference. The authors of accepted posters and demos will participate in a one-minute madness session to introduce their research to the IPSN audience in 60 seconds. Best regards Christian Hammerschmidt ====About GraSec==== Most of the existing security monitoring solutions cannot cope with unknown and complex attacks due to the continual apparition of new threats, botnet propagation and command-and-control mechanisms. Recently, botnet detection systems which leverage communication graph analysis using machine learning have gained attention to overcome these limitations. Graph-based modeling and mining approaches have been proposed and provide interesting results. Graph-based modeling offers the advantage of understanding complex attacks and determining the root cause of an attack. However, existing graph mining tools for anomaly detection over streaming events are not adapted for cyber-security problems while the corresponding data continuously appears in the form of complex graphs. The workshop serves to bring together people from industry and academia including researchers, developers, and practitioners from a variety of fields working on graphs and their applications to network, cybersecurity, and blockchain. Moreover, the workshop allows attendees to share and discuss their latest findings from both theoretical and practical perspectives in several techniques and methods for graph modeling, mining, learning, and visualizing. New applications, such as virtual reality and smart building control, have emerged due to the large number of resources and services brought by cloud computing. However, the delay-sensitive applications face the problem of large latency, especially when several smart devices and objects are getting involved in human’s life such as the case of smart cities or Internet of Things. Therefore, cloud computing is unable to meet the requirements of low latency, location awareness, and mobility support. To solve this problem, researchers have introduced a trusted and dependable solution through the Fog and the Mobile Edge Computing (FMEC) to put the services and resources of the cloud closer to users, which facilitates the leveraging of available services and resources in the edge networks. By this, we are moving from the core (cloud data centers) to the edge of the network closer to the users. FMEC dependability is based on providing user centric service. The purpose of Fog and the Mobile Edge Computing is to run the heavy real-time applications at the network edge directly using the billions of connected mobile devices. Several features enable the Fog and the Mobile Edge Computing to be a perfect paradigm to the aforementioned purpose, which are the dense geographical deployment of servers, supporting mobility and the closeness to users. As in every new technology, some challenges face the vision of the Fog and the Mobile Edge Computing, which are the administrative policies and security concerns (i.e. secure data storage, secure computation, network security, data privacy, usage privacy, location privacy, etc). FMEC 2020 conference aims to investigate the opportunities and requirements for Mobile Edge Computing dominance. Manuscripts must not identify authors or their affiliations. Authors are encouraged to cite their own work but must not implicitly identify themselves. Do not put a “deleted for double-blind” entry in the reference section. In the case of widely-available Open Source software, authors should cite the website(s) but not claim to own them. Authors should also remember to mask grant numbers and other government markings during the review process. Papers that attempt to identify authors or leverage prior work or institutional support for a competitive advantage in the peer review process will not be considered. Artifacts, including open-source designs and tools are encouraged; if there are questions about how to handle blind-review, contact the program chair. FCCM 2020 includes a rebuttal phase. Specific questions from reviewers will be made available by February 2nd. Authors have the option to provide an up to 500-word response by February 7th. Reviewers will consider the responses during final paper deliberations. Simultaneous Submissions: Papers must not be simultaneously under review or waiting to appear at another conference or in a journal, and must not be essentially the same as any paper that has been previously published. If a paper contains text or technical content that is similar to a previously published or submitted paper, that other paper should be cited in the FCCM submission, and the differences should be made clear. Reviewer Conflicts: Authors must register any program committee conflicts as they submit their paper. Conflicts can include those that have co-authored a paper in the past 3 years, those that have current or recent shared institutional affiliation, or other situations in which the relationship would prevent a reviewer from being objective. Note that if an undeclared conflict is discovered, or a conflict is declared in an attempt to “game” the review process, the submission may be rejected. If you believe you may have a conflict with the program chair, please contact the program chair well in advance of the submission deadline. Best Paper Award and a Special Section for the Best FCCM 2020 Papers in ACM TRETS: FCCM 2020 will continue the tradition of having a best long and short paper award. We will also invite the authors of the best papers to extend their work to be considered for publication in a special section of ACM’s Transactions on Reconfigurable Technology and Systems (TRETS) for FCCM 2020. Special Note to Authors: At least one author of each accepted submission is expected to attend the conference and present their work. Failure to present in person at the conference will result in the removal of the submission from IEEE Xplore. Across all topics (and especially for application papers) successful manuscripts will include sufficient details to reproduce the results presented (e.g., full part numbers, software versions). Application papers should not just be an implementation of an application on an FPGA, but should show how reconfigurable technology is leveraged by the application, and should ideally contain insights and lessons that can be carried forward into future designs. April 20-23, 2020 Technically Co-Sponsored by IEEE France Section *SDS 2020 CFP:* Next generation cloud systems will require a paradigm shift in how they are constructed and managed. Conventional control and management platforms are facing considerable challenges regarding flexibility, dependability and security that next generation systems will require. The cloud computing paradigm has gone part of the way towards alleviating some of the problems associated with resource allocation, utilization and managements (e.g., via elasticity). However, many of the elements of a well-designed cloud environment remain “stiff” and hard to modify and adapt in an integrated fashion. This includes underlying networking topologies, many aspects of the user control over IaaS, PaaS or SaaS layers when such is needed, construction of XaaS services, provenance and meta-data collection, and so on. In many situations the problem may be because service abstraction is inadequate. Software Defined Systems (SDS) are systems that have added software components which help abstract actual IT equipment and other layers. One classical example, of course, are hypervisors. Such separation provides a great opportunity for system administrators to more easily construct and managing their systems through flexible software layers. Software Defined Systems include Software Defined Networking (SDN), Software Defined Storage, Software Defined Servers (Virtualization), Software Defined Datacenters (SDD), Software Defined Security (SDSec), and ultimately Software Defined Clouds (SDCloud) to name a few possibilities. Individual solutions and seamless integration of these abstractions remains in many respects a challenge. After the high success of the previous editions (SDS'2014, SDS'2015, SDS'2016, SDS'2017, SDS'2018, SDS' 2019), The Seventh International conference on Software Defined Systems 2020 (SDS'2020) will continue to be a forum for scientists, researchers, students, and practitioners to present their latest research results, ideas, and developments in the area of software defined systems – both components and their integration - and by implication advancement of next generation clouds. It is expected that 5G deployments will be characterized by increased network density, enhanced capacity, near ubiquitous connectivity, and ultra-reliable and low latency communications, in order to deliver flawless quality of service (QoS) that is essential for IoT to be successful. To deal with these trends and support the growing appetite of data services, mobile backhaul becomes an indispensable solution towards realising a 5G network. Moreover, the emergence of dense heterogeneous networks (HetNets), which are constantly promoted as a prime candidate for 5G evolution, has further provisioned the need of mobile backhaul solutions while making it a critical component of RAN. However, wireless backhauling relies on Small Cell Base Stations (SBSs); wherein the installation of extra terrestrial infrastructures for SBSs may not be an acceptable solution due to the high cost of deployment. Thus, a huge paradigm shift in backhaul network design is highly desirable for 5G networks in order to dynamically manage the increasing traffic demands of SBSs and cater new applications with ease. In this direction, the integration of both terrestrial and aerial network components can be considered a promising solution. Therefore, drone-mounted infrastructure are envisioned to supplement the terrestrial infrastructure while improving flexibility and reliability of backhaul operations. However, in order to reap the full potential of drones in 5G backhaul, it must cope with the inherent challenges like lack of fixed backhual links, multi-drone coordination, collision and crash avoidance, sparsely and intermittently connected network topologies, and moreover limited communication, computation, and endurance capabilities. Therefore, the proposed workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to share their ideas, latest findings, and state-of-the-art results on fostering the promising benefits of drones in 5G backhaul networks. We seek provocative ideas that challenge existing approaches to IoT design and implementation, abstracts that sketch intriguing IoT systems and share preliminary results and exciting demonstrations of novel IoT technology, applications and hardware. We invite contributions from researchers and practitioners from industry and academia. IoTDI 2020 will be part of CPS-IoT Week in beautiful Sydney, Australia. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: * Analytic foundations and theory of IoT * Reliability, security, timeliness, and robustness in IoT systems * Novel protocols and network abstractions * Data streaming architectures and machine learning analytics for IoT * IoT-motivated cyber-physical and Industrial IoT (IIoT) systems * Novel quality requirements and their enforcement mechanisms * Cloud back-ends and resource management for IoT applications * Edge and fog computing * Personal, wearable, and other embedded networked front-ends * Social computing and human-in-the-loop issues * Applications domains (e.g., smart cities, smart health, smart buildings, smart transportation) * Deployment experiences, case studies & lessons learned * Evaluation and testbeds * AI/ML for IoT & Embedded Systems * Energy/Power Management & Harvesting for IoT Platforms The 2-page extended abstract describing the poster or demo will be evaluated based on technical merit, innovation, and the potential to stimulate lively discussions at the conference. Accepted abstracts will appear in the conference proceedings. At least one author of each accepted abstract must register and present the poster/demo at the conference. MADNESS SESSION IoTDI’20 and IPSN’20 will co-host a 1-minute madness session, during which the author of each accepted poster or demo has EXACTLY one minute to introduce their work at the main conference venue. Based on the feedback from past years' attendees, the 1-minute madness session is perceived as lively and interesting, and is typically very well attended. SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS * Poster and demonstration abstracts should be at most 2 single-spaced US Letter (8.5” x 11”) pages, including all figures, tables, and references. All submissions must use the LaTeX (preferred) or Word styles found at https://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.ht… Note that due to having both ACM and IEEE sponsorship, IoTDI uses ACM and IEEE templates alternating between the years. For 2020, we will use IEEE templates as linked above using the 10-point type. * The review process is single-blind, so there is no need to anonymize the submissions. * The title of the abstract should be prepended with "Poster Abstract:" or "Demo Abstract:". Please make sure to include the name, affiliation, and contact information of all authors. * Demonstration abstracts should list any special requirements (tables, power, wireless connectivity, etc.) in the submission on a separate third page.
