Healthcare is one of the largest industries with 5-18% of GDPs spent on health and Care globally. The healthcare budgets of the vast majority of nations continue to outgrow their GDPs. Social, demographic, economic and technological factors are the drivers for ever faster changing healthcare models. While the demographic shifts in the populations display significant socio-economic challenges they trigger more and more opportunities for innovators in the areas of sensor technology, the Internet of Things, Robotics, e-health, m-Health, Cloud Computing and emerging technologies such as 5G, Big Data, SDNs, NFV, Precision and Personalized Medicine. However, the integration of innovative technology into society is associated with a lot of complexities. We encourage participation and submissions from universities, industry, and DOE National Laboratories. Artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) is a game-changing technology that has shown tremendous advantages and improvements in algorithms, implementations, and applications. “AI for Science” broadly refers to designing future methods and scientific opportunities that use computational learning and machine intelligence. This includes the development and application of AI methods (e.g., machine learning, deep learning, statistical methods, data analytics, automated control, and related areas). We have seen many successful stories that AI methods are used to predict extreme weather events, identify exoplanets in trillions of sky pixels, accelerate numerical solvers in fluid simulation, design better materials and processes, accelerate drug discovery, explore the mysteries of the universe, and drive an array of scientific discoveries. However, there are a number of problems remaining to be studied to enhance the usability of AI/ML to scientific applications by leveraging HPC systems. For example, how to systematically and automatically apply AI/ML to scientific applications? How to incorporate domain knowledge (e.g., conservation laws, invariants, causality and symmetries) into AI/ML models? How to make the models interpretable and robust for HPC? How to make AI/ML more approachable to the HPC community? How to effectively utilize extreme scale HPC systems and novel AI accelerators for AI/ML? The scope of the workshop encompasses all the layers of system and software stack, from computer architectures, operating system, middleware, programming models, runtime systems, tools, to applications. Heterogeneous memory infrastructure design is becoming an emerging trend in today’s HPC scene. Different memory technologies are maturing, such as HBM, NVM/persistent memories, and also emerging, such as those based on CXL. These aim at helping mitigate the memory bottleneck by offering opportunities for benefiting applications that process large amounts of data, e.g., offering small but fast memory subsystems to place frequently accessed data structures. Such opportunities may be realized across all the layers of system and software stack: from computer architectures, operating system, middleware, programming models, runtime systems, tools, up to applications. As in previous years, the Workshop on Heterogeneous Memory Systems (HMEM) will bring together different research efforts and expertise to the end of integrating different approaches and democratizing the use of heterogeneous memory systems to benefit applications not only in terms of performance, but also energy efficiency and cost tradeoffs. The main goal of the workshop is to push the research frontiers forward by exchanging knowledge and debating ideas through featured talks, technical paper presentations, and interactive discussions. The use of AI in online social networks offers great opportunities and, at the same time, raises several challenges. AI's ability to analyze vast amounts of data in real-time allows social media platforms to offer highly personalized experiences to users. The use of AI may raise concerns about ethical issues such as privacy, algorithmic bias, misinformation, etc., but AI can also be used for content moderation on social media to detect and remove harmful or inappropriate content, identifying and mitigating the spread of fake news. etc. The use of AI on OSNEM can promote the democratic processes by facilitating the dissemination of information and encourage political engagement. On the other hand, AI algorithms can create echo chambers, influence voting behavior and generate significant risks for democracy. AI-driven security measures can help to protect OSNEM users from fraud and privacy breaches but, malicious actors can also use AI to support their attacks. The exponential diffusion of generative AI adds novel dimensions to this landscape, on the one hand supporting novel forms of interactions spanning into the Metaverse, but on the other hand exposing vulnerable users to dramatic threats. The aim of this special issue is to push the state of the art in using AI in OSNEM, by presenting quantitative contributions that investigate the opportunities and challenges of using AI in Online Social Networks. Within this framework, topics include, but are not limited to: - Using AI in OSNEM for personalization, efficiency, and recommendations; - AI-based studies for analysis and modelling of information and opinion dynamics in OSNEM; - AI-based predictions based on OSNEM data analysis; - AI impact on OSNEM security, trustworthiness and privacy; - Generative AI in OSNEM; - AI and social networking in the Metaverse; - AI methodologies for large-scale OSNEM data collection and analysis - AI methods to safeguard OSNEM users (e.g., bot detection, toxic content identification, content moderation, echo chamber avoidance) - Case studies of AI application in OSNEM Online Social Networks and Media is a multidisciplinary journal for the wide community of computer and network scientists working on developing OSNEM platforms and services and using OSNEM as a big data source to mine, learn and model the (online) human behaviour. --------------ACM SAC 2025 - Track on Cloud Continuum----------- https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://sites.google.com/ime.usp.br/acmsac2025cc… The ACM SAC 2025 Track on Cloud Continuum welcomes paper submissions on all aspects of cloud computing research and applications, emphasizing those describing research on different forms of virtualization techniques as applied to systems computing. Cloud computing has become a common commodity with many different providers and solutions. Several new models are being developed and applied to ensure scalability, quality of service, and resilience. The models focus both on the providers, optimizing the use of their infrastructure, and on the users' side, optimizing the response times and/or costs. This scenario is becoming more complex with the possibility of having computing power close to the users on edge/fog models. All this scenario can be seen as the Cloud Continuum. There are already some conferences that have the Cloud Continuum in their call-for-papers. However, only some of them have explicitly focused on the applications, the goal of our track. We aim to attract a broader range of papers, from software engineering to High-Performance Computing applications. All of them will be discussed in the Cloud Continuum scenario.
