*** Application Deadline Extended *** The application deadline for ATPESC 2024 has been extended to March 10. Doctoral students, postdocs, and scientists interested in conducting computational science and engineering research on large-scale computers are encouraged to apply. Submit your application for an opportunity to learn the tools and techniques needed to carry out computational science on the world's most powerful supercomputers. ATPESC participants will have access to DOE’s leadership-class systems at the ALCF, OLCF, and NERSC. PROGRAM CURRICULUM Renowned scientists and leading HPC experts will serve as lecturers and guide the hands-on training sessions. The PACT conference series brings together researchers from computer architectures, compilers, execution environments, programming languages, and applications, to present and discuss their latest research results. PACT 2024 will be held as an in-person event in Long Beach, California, USA. At least one of the authors of accepted papers will be required to attend the conference, and we encourage all the authors to participate. Specific topics of interest include (but are not limited to): * Parallel architectures, including accelerator architectures for AI or other domains * Compilers and tools for parallel architectures (as above) * Applications and experimental systems studies of parallel processing * Computational models for concurrent execution * Multicore, multithreaded, superscalar, and VLIW architectures * Compiler and hardware support for hiding memory latencies * Support for correctness and security in hardware and software * Reconfigurable parallel computing * Dynamic translation and optimization * I/O issues in parallel computing and their relation to applications * Parallel programming languages, algorithms, and applications * Middleware and run-time system support for parallel computing * Application-specific parallel systems * Distributed computing architectures and systems * Heterogeneous systems using various types of accelerators * In-core and in-chip accelerators and their exploitation * Applications of machine learning to parallel computing * Large scale data processing, including computing in memory accelerators * Insights for the design of parallel architectures and compilers from modern parallel applications PACT for Quantum and Neurmorphic * Neuromorphic computing both as an application for and a tool applied to architectures and compilers * Quantum computing architectures and compilers. In addition to the regular research papers, PACT 2024 has a special category of papers called “tools and practical experience” (TPE). Such papers are subject to the same page length guidelines and will be reviewed by the same Program Committee. TPE papers focus on applicability (such as traditional methods employed in emerging fields), exposing challenges and experiences the industry is facing as an opportunity to steer the research. A TPE paper must clearly explain its functionality, provide a summary about the practice experience with realistic case studies, and describe all the supporting artifacts available (if relevant). The selection criteria are: * Originality: Papers should present PACT-related technologies applied to real-world problems with scope or characteristics that set them apart from previous solutions. * Usability: The presented Tools or compilers should have broad usage or applicability. They are expected to assist in PACT-related research, or could be extended to investigate or demonstrate new technologies. If significant components are not yet implemented, the paper will not be considered. * Documentation: The tool or compiler should be presented on a web-site giving documentation and further information about the tool. * Benchmark Repository: A suite of benchmarks for testing should be provided. * Availability: Preferences will be given to tools or compilers that are freely available (at either the source or binary level). Exceptions may be made for industry and commercial tools that cannot be made publicly available for business reasons. * Foundations: Papers should incorporate the principles underpinning Parallel Architectures and Compilation Techniques (PACT). The Forum intends to serve as an interactive platform, encourage potential authors to present emerging topics and controversial positions, and demonstrate innovative systems, tools, and applications. The Forum sessions at the CAiSE conference will facilitate the interaction, discussion, and exchange of ideas among presenters and participants. Contributions to the CAiSE'24 Forum are welcome to address any of the CAiSE'24 conference topics and, particularly, this year's theme—Information Systems in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. We invite two types of submissions: • Visionary papers present innovative research projects, which are still at a relatively early stage and do not necessarily include a full-scale validation. Visionary papers will be presented as posters in the Forum. • Demo papers describe innovative tools and prototypes that implement the results of research efforts. The tools and prototypes will be presented as demos in the Forum, accompanied by a poster. Both visionary papers and demo papers must not exceed 8 pages in LNCS format. The submitted papers must be unpublished and must not be under review elsewhere. PUBLICATION AND PRESENTATIONS Accepted papers will be published by Springer in a CAISE Forum proceedings volume within the Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP) series (https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://www.springer.com/series/7911__;!!G_uCfsc… ). Authors should consult Springer's authors guidelines and use their LaTeX or Word proceedings templates for the preparation of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. In addition, the corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form. The corresponding author signing the copyright form should match the corresponding author marked on the paper. Once the files have been sent to Springer, changes relating to the authorship of the papers cannot be made. It is expected that at least one of the authors attends CAiSE'24, presents the poster/delivers the demo, and interacts with the Forum participants. We also envision a short oral presentation for all papers to attract participants to the posters.
